Ceri & Deri: The Treasure Map

Publisher: Graffeg

Ceri the Cat and her best friend Deri the Dog are on the hunt for treasure. Luckily, they have a map because Ceri’s Nan’s Nan was a pirate, and she left a map that would lead to buried treasure.

The two friends set off to the beach and pick up some friends along the way. It seems everyone enjoys looking for treasure. The treasure is exactly where the map said it would be – but no one could guess what would be inside the treasure chest!

This is the third book in the Ceri & Deri series, with a fourth on the way. Max Low’s illustrations are cartoony and comic. The text is fairly long for a picture book, with clear text on white pages that would be good for reading practice. The gentle story is simply about how much fun it can be to share an adventure with friends, perfectly suited to school-age children who would rather avoid stories with peril or drama.
