Cave Baby
Publisher: Macmillan Children's Books
Cave Baby is restless. With mum and dad too busy to play, Cave Baby sets about amusing himself. Unfortunately nobody except Cave Baby finds these antics very amusing, and he is warned that being naughty will mean 'A mammoth's going to throw you to the big brown bear!'
It isn't too long before Cave Baby encounters the mammoth… only to share an unexpected, and very fun, experience.
With Julia Donaldson's distinctive rhyming text and Emily Gravett's heartfelt illustrations, this book will delight those little ones with mischief at heart.

I had never seen this book before but little dragon took to it straight away. He was worried about cave baby when he was taken from the cave and was happy for him, smiling broadly, when the mammoth family appreciated what cave baby had done. Mummy noticed bear shapes in the background and now we try to spot those as we read too. A lovely book about being able to express yourself and get messy!

A very random story but a lovely one too, especially the baby's creative skills. Another of my son's favourites.

My 2-year-old daughter absolutely loved this book, so much so that she can recite it word for word. She started reading it at 18 months, the same time she fell in love with painting and I can't explain how happy she is when she reads this. We act out a lot of the story and I add bits that she will understand better but honestly, it's a definite winner with mine!

My baby loved this book, it's a perfect short length for a very little one and has lots of interesting pages to look at. The usual rhyming style of Julia Donaldson kept his interest!

I read this story to Isla when she was 5 wks old...the soft rhyming throughout the story kept her alert and smiling. She watched me reading all the way through, her eyes never shifted from mine.

I listened to this book at school, and I really liked it. I liked it because it was scary, and I like scary stuff. My favourite part was when the cave baby was riding on a mammal.

The boys chose this with a voucher they received for their 3rd birthday, based upon the fact that it was Julia Donaldson! Encouraged to look through, they were adamant that this was the book for them - and it did not disappoint. Another fantastic read.
