Catching Fire
Book two of the Hunger Games trilogy
Publisher: Scholastic
This second book of the Hunger Games trilogy sees Katniss and Peeta as the first ever joint Victors of a bloodthirsty and mercilessly gruesome reality TV show.
The pair survived by challenging the power of the Capitol and now the ruthless President Snow wants revenge for their defiance.
In an attempt to quell the simmering unrest in the provinces, and to reassert his authority, the president reveals an ingenious and brutal plan which should rid him of his nemesis. But he has seriously underestimated the tenacity of the human spirit.
More than just a violent dystopian novel, the story boasts a wealth of subplots and a well developed cast of characters whilst maintaining a level of tension which makes it hard to put down.

This book is great. It is quite sad but overall a great book. I'd recommend this book to people who enjoy adventure books.

It's really good and I enjoy reading it. It can be gory at times so if you're squeamish I don't recommend this to you but overall it's a really good book! Out of the whole trilogy, I think this has the most romance in it, which is good if you're a hopeless romantic (me!) I haven't watched the films yet but am planning to. This is a must read to people who like adventure, gore and romance mixed into one

I think this is the best book in The Hunger Games trilogy. It's really gripping and suspenseful and at some moments you feel like crying. I absolutely love the way Katniss and Peeta are together because their conversations are always so emotional. This is one of THE BEST books ever!

I have read the trilogy and I am addicted to it. It is so amazing that I even watched the two movies and I would totally recommend them to anyone (do note that the first film is quite harsh and gruesome, whereas Catching Fire is less scary). Catching Fire is about the 75th annual Hunger Games and unfortunately Katniss and Peeta are forced into the arena once again. It's a cliffhanger story and if you liked the 1st book you are guaranteed to enjoy this one. Buy it, borrow it, whatever!

Reading the entire Hunger Games Trilogy, this is the one with the most romance and the one that appealed to me the most. When Peeta's undying love for Katniss proves right, right at the end Katniss finally sees what she's lost and what she's willing to lose when trying to gain it back, I'm trying to tell you what happens at the end without spilling the beans, so sorry, I can't tell you what happens! But I can't see why when you can just go to the library, or go to the trouble to buy the bo...

So i read all 3 books when i was nine and loved them!! Warnings: same as first book, plus one underaged drink. This leaves off from book one, (read it!) so at the very beginning we start off with a twist. That just grows, and grows, and grows. The end is a cliffhanger so high you have to read Mockingjay. This is super exciting and you never know what’s gonna happen next.
