Can't You Sleep, Little Bear?
Publisher: Walker Books
Little Bear just can't get to sleep because he is afraid of the dark. Big Bear is patient and brings bigger and bigger lanterns to keep away the darkness. Still Little Bear is afraid, so Big Bear takes him outside to see the moon and the stars. Finally, cuddled up in Big Bear's arms, Little Bear goes to sleep, allowing Big Bear to finish reading his book. This is a timeless classic, pictures and text beautifully complementing each other. Included in this edition is a CD with the story read by Martin Jarvis. This is a well-paced reading with a few effects to evoke a warm and friendly cave. Ideal for parents and children together or for the classroom listening corner.

This book has been a favourite in our house for a long time now, it is never far away at bedtime. It's especially great for children who are a bit wary of the dark and need a little reassurance

Thomas loves this book and we can use the dvd it comes with to help with following along with the words. It is a lovely simple book to read and also helps with your child overcome their own fears.

Beautiful story and truly magical pictures. I was put off reading this by reviews on Amazon saying that their children got scared of the dark by reading it, but I can't see that at all. I think it is lovely

Read this book before going to bed and it's a good story. There's no being scared of the dark when it's bedtime, and it has a happy ending all around.

A great bedtime read, just before the lights go out. Mummy and daddy have lots of fun doing the voices, and Jack seems to enjoy them too!

I read this story to my boy before he goes to bed, especially when he's not very tired. He reminds me of the little bear in the story.
