Before I Die
Publisher: Random House
Tessa is 16 and has only a few months to live. Freed from the 'normal' constraints of the living, she makes a list of ten things she wants to experience before she dies – sex, drugs, love and breaking the law are just the first few.
As she works through her list she learns what is important and how to live life to the full. Her relationships with family, best friend and new boyfriend come into sharp focus and are transformed, as they journey with her to her very last day.
Stunning in its beauty and honesty, this is an exceptional and utterly compelling read. Unsentimental, passionate and funny, Tessa is a real and unforgettable character in a surprisingly uplifting novel.

A matter of life and death
It can often be difficult to discuss death and bereavement with teenagers, or even for teenagers to do so with parents/carers.

This book is beautifully written, with an amazing story line. I was so intrigued by the story and my heart was moved as I turned each page. Before I die is such an amazing read and I couldn't recommend it any more than I have I literally couldn't put it down until I finished this book in tears of happiness and sadness. This is one of my favourites books and in some way I felt like I wanted to be Tessa herself all the amazing things she does and deals with. Love Jemima x
