Bears Don't Read

Publisher: Harper Collins

George is a great big grizzly bear, but not an average every-day bear. George isn't happy to just do the usual bear things - he wants more. One day George finds a book and it's exactly what he's been looking for. There's just one problem: George can't read. Luckily George meets a girl called Clementine at the library. Clementine loves books and is just the person to help George.

Bears Don't Read  is a wonderful picture book about the joy of reading and how much fun it can be to help others. George is a great character and the brilliant drawings really make the reader feel for George as he struggles to find help reading. The tension between George, the great big grizzly bear, and the villagers is broken by Clementine's friendly personality and this makes the book incredibly engaging and fun to read.
