All Afloat on Noah's Boat!

Publisher: Hachette

Combine bright, funny, action-packed pictures with a rap-style rhyming text telling a favourite story, and you get a book like this, guaranteed to engage readers of all ages but particularly suited to early years.

The story of Noah and his ark is a wonderful inspiration for artwork, and Parker-Rees has clearly enjoyed the opportunity to depict a variety of creatures, all acting characteristically – especially when they are cooped up on board for weeks on end, and Noah organises a talent show!

Each spread is filled with energy and colour, and many are breathtakingly exuberant. Mitton's text swings along splendidly, and employs ear-catching rhyme, alliteration and assonance, while the variation in fonts gives excellent clues to how to read the story aloud.
