I don't usually read these type of dragon books but decided to give it a go! I got about fifty pages into it when I began to get a bit bored but I'm sure that's just my preference of book genres. This probably would've been a good read however it was not challenging.

A darkness of dragons is about patch brightwater, a young boy who fled from his training to become a piper. Instead he got locked up for using a forbidden spell along the way, to make money. After an invasion had occurred in the dungeons, his mission was to catch the evil piper from doing any harm! He had help from a dracogriff and a rat, cursed by a sorcerer. Although the plot can be confusing sometimes, i would recommend it.

It is a very good book full of fun adventures. Part of the story tells us that a boy called Patch played a forbidden song 102 times and was imprisoned 510 years!!! Patch, Wren and Barver are brought together from a bunch of different events and become best friends. In the story they find out evil is around so they use their skills to protect themselves.

I personally don't usually read books of this genre but decided to try something new. I read about fifty pages and then got a little bored and stopped. I'm sure this would make an excellent read for others and that it is just my book preference. It wasn't a bad book it just wasn't for me!
