Book six in the Georgia Nicholson series

Publisher: HarperCollins

The sixth instalment of Georgia Nicholson’s diaries sees her jetting off to Hamburger-a-gogo land in search of Masimo, the ‘Lurve God of the Universe’.

Sadly her plans are thwarted because she is in Memphis while he is in Manhattan and the bus trip takes five weeks – each way!

On returning home and in preparation for the ‘Battle of the Chicks’, she invests in a pair of groovy shoes which are three sizes too small and ends up having to have them surgically removed, then mislays her ‘boy entrancers’ (look it up in the glossary kindly provided at the end of the book) and ‘special occasion knickers’ and is convinced her Vati (Dad) has borrowed them.

As the above amply demonstrates, this is not a book to be read on public transport. Despite appearances, Rennison’s books are particularly popular with teenage boys, who apparently pick up tips on the strange workings of the minds of teenage girls.
