The Full Stop That Got Away
by Laura Baker, illustrated by Nathan Reed

About this book
Frank is a full stop: he’s small, round, and very determined, and enjoys putting a definitive STOP on things. He never shouts or asks questions, and he splits up sentences that get too long.
However, when Frank begins a story about a dragon, it starts to get out of control. Dee, the party-loving dragon, invites all of her friends to a tea party: there are sandwiches, lemonade, doughnuts and cupcakes, bananas, apples, cookies, popcorn, and strawberries, and – with nobody to control things – the dragon party gets slightly out of hand.
Luckily, Frank is there to end the story. But sometimes it’s okay to get a little carried away with having fun: after all, that’s when the best stories happen.
This delightful, zany book about a clever little full stop and an incorrigible dragon is a great way to explain full stops and what they do in punctuation to young readers and listeners. Nathan Reed’s illustrations are adorable, funny and full of character and little ones will love looking at all the fun party food details, too.
