About this book

The North Pole is very busy with preparations for Christmas. The elves are particularly busy because as well as everything else, their choir is preparing to sing at the Christmas concert. However, there is a problem: one member of the choir, Rhewyn, just can’t keep in tune. With the concert getting closer and Rhewyn’s singing not getting any better, his friends recommend that he goes outside to practise. But the reindeers, the polar bear and the whales are not fans of his singing either. Rhewyn is feeling very disheartened when he comes across an ice cave. There he can sing happily to his heart’s content – but there is still no improvement when it comes to keeping the tune. As he sings, the walls of the ice cave vibrate, causing icicles to fall, and as they do so they create a wonderful ‘Tink Tonk’ noise. Rhewyn realises he can use these icicles to create an instrument that will mean he can be part of the Christmas concert after all – without having to sing! This is a fantastic read-aloud book full of rhymes and plenty of opportunities for young readers to join in. The illustrations, especially the elves’ eye-catching outfits, ensure this book will catch the attention of any young reader.
