About this book
Duck is a home bird: he likes splashing in the bath, eating bread in bed and reorganising his sock collection. However, one day, Great-Granduck decides that it’s time for Duck to spread his wings and advises him to go and find and adventure.
Seeing that the Feather Force Delivery Service are looking for couriers, Duck applies and is swiftly despatched by Ostrich Bosstrich – the head honcho – to Oak Beach with a parcel to deliver before sunset, using only a scooter.
Despite panicking and getting on a plane in the wrong direction, Duck finally gets his parcel to Oak Beach on time, and discovers that he has had a brilliant adventure, taken Great-Granduck’s advice and is now proud that he is a bonafide delivery duck.
Tom Tinn-Dinsbury’s heartwarming, cute picture book about a duck that dares to believe in himself, with the help of an inspiring grandpa, is both an amusing and exciting adventure and a reminder to be brave and go out of our comfort zones every now and again. Truly lovely.
