About this book

Sammy is writing apology letters. He created a robot and it ... went a bit rogue. Now he's been sent to his room. Will Mum ever let him out? And will he realise what he's done? Join in as you spot in the pictures exactly what the robot is up to.

This picture book tells a very funny story in letter form, as Sammy says sorry to his mum, his teacher - and even the prime minister. Children will enjoy piecing together what happened through the letters and the illustrations, which show what is happening in the world while Sammy is stuck in his room. The events escalate with every page turn, as Sammy writes to people further and further from his everyday life. Grown ups will be pleased to hear that Sammy does eventually stop the chain of events he's inadvertently set in motion, and apologises properly - but this is far from a po-faced morality tale. It has humour, a relatable child (who's also an inventor) and cracking illustrations with lots of detail to spot.

This would be ideal to use with children in a primary classroom.
