About this book
This stylish, translated picture book is a cut above the average digger-and-dumper tale for toddlers.
It features more than a dozen construction vehicles, each of which is presented across a double-page spread. Every vehicle is accompanied by a delightful animal driver with a quirky story to tell, as well as a smattering of interesting facts to entertain inquisitive young readers.
The book opens with famous sculptor Emily Sheep expertly hoisting a huge block of stone into position with her wheel loader, ready to create her next masterpiece. Celebrated concert pianist, Cordelia Cow, uses a telescopic crane to manoeuvre her piano to the pasture, where she intends to treat her less successful sisters to a free concert.
Meanwhile, J.J. Wolf uses his smart new mini digger to excavate a small hole in the sheep paddock. He helpfully scoops out the unfortunate sheep who accidentally tumble into the hole, and even offers to take them home for dinner.
Highly original and extremely funny, the tale is accompanied by fabulous artwork in a sophisticated palette of colours. This wonderful collection of small stories about big machines perfectly fuses fact and fiction to create an enormously entertaining and informative book.
