About this book
This colourful picture book features a fabulous array of vehicles, from a forklift truck to a cement mixer, all of which are driven by dogs.
The story follows two lorries, one red and one yellow, as they set off from the depot early one morning. The red crane drives to the mountains to lift fallen trees which are blocking the snowy roads. Meanwhile, the yellow dumper truck heads to the city, unloading its cargo of rocks, before reloading and heading to its next destination. After a very busy day, the vehicles transport their drivers to the funfair, before returning to the depot to settle down for the night.
Bright, lively illustrations are full of humorous detail and create a wonderful visual narrative to enrich the minimal text. An entertaining page of mishaps, including a steamroller driving through spilt paint and a sportscar being squashed by a bulldozer, is sure to elicit plenty of giggles. The rhythmic text generates pace, making this an ideal story to read aloud and children will love to join in with the repetitive phrases. An entertaining book with enduring appeal.
