About this book
Amelia Cheeseheart the mouse lives in a museum gift shop with her best friend, Webster the spider.
One day, they hear strange noises coming from the Ice Age exhibition, so they fly off to investigate. The cave mice are upset because a sabre-toothed tiger tooth is missing. Then the Viking mice say they’ve lost a treasure, too.
They each accuse the other of stealing their prized possessions, and battle is about to commence. But Amelia and Webster know something is afoot! And it’s up to them to get to the bottom of it.
The comic book style of this story will be incredibly appealing to young readers. Not only are there brightly coloured illustrations and distinct panels to move through when following the action, but the whole story is also divided into short chapters. This allows the emerging reader time to pause and digest what has happened, which is helpful here as there are many moments of peril and excitement.
The story is mostly told in speech bubbles, with the occasional narrative line, and helpfully the font uses upper and lower case letters, and infant 'a's, making it easier for beginner readers to decode than the traditional upper case of graphic novels. Action-packed fun!
