John Yeoman was for many years Head of English at the French Lycée in London. His collaboration with Quentin Blake began in 1960, and has resulted in a long list of successful children's books of which a number of well-loved titles.
Louise Yates
Louise Yates began drawing pictures to go with the stories she wrote for school, and at a young age began telling people that she wanted to be a children’s book illustrator. She studied English at Oxford University, and currently attends The Prince's Drawing School. She lives in London.
Malala Yousafzai
Malala Yousafzai was born in 1997 in the Swat Valley of Pakistan, which she saw transformed from a beautiful and peaceful land to a place of fear and repression under the control of the Taliban. Malala now lives in Birmingham, England. She says she has been given a second life, which she intends to devote to her belief that children everywhere deserve an education. In 2014, she was jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
Salina Yoon
Salina Yoon is an award-winning author-illustrator of nearly two hundred books for young children, including Where's Boo? and the popular Penguin picture-book series. She has received a Theodore Seuss Geisel Honor Award, been a finalist for the CBC's Children's Choice Book Award for Kindergarten to Second Grade, and has received Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Seal Awards and the Nick Jr. Family Magazine Best Book of the Year Award. She lives in San Diego, California, with her family.
Yulia Yakovleva
Yulia Yakovleva Horst has worked for many years as a columnist and an editor in leading Russian newspapers and magazines. She writes in both Russian and Norwegian. Her first children book Halens historie written in Norwegian and published under her Norwegian name, received the Bologna Ragazzi Award 2014 in Opera Prima category. Raven's children is her first children novel in Russian. She is studying for an MA in children's illustration in the UK.
