Making reading connections in your school

Join BookTrust for a free afternoon event exploring how to engage your primary students, their families and the wider school community with reading for pleasure.

Featuring local practitioners with on-the-ground experience in schools, these practical sessions are designed to support you to develop new approaches and ideas, and create connections through reading.

At the event, you will have the opportunity to:

  • strengthen your understanding of the important role played by families and wider communities in encouraging children to read for pleasure
  • be inspired by innovative reading projects which are transforming reading communities in local schools
  • identify your school’s priority reading communities, and take away practical suggestions for supporting and encouraging these students and their families
  • find out more about how BookTrust initiatives such as Time to Read can help you foster a culture of reading for pleasure

The events are aimed at Literacy Coordinators, school leaders, or any practitioners interested in promoting reading for pleasure in primary schools.
