Phil Earle on his new book, Superhero Street
Published on: 26 February 2016 Author: Phil Earle
To mark the release of his brand new book, Superhero Street, Phil Earle talks about the inspiration behind his latest tale - with the help of his daughter, Elsie.
Superhero Street tells the story of Mouse, a young boy who becomes a superhero after his mum stops a bank robbery.
Our Writer in Residence goes on to talk about how he was inspired to write this book after he read an article in the newspaper some years ago.
The article was about a man who became a superhero by helping people park their cars. He couldn't afford much so his costume was homemade, just like Mouse's costume in Superhero Street.
In honour of the superhero that inspired Phil, his daughter, Elsie has dressed up just like the him.

Stanley is an ordinary boy from an ordinary family, with one notable exception: his father is a superhero. With lively, colourful illustrations, short chapters and clear, well-spaced text, this very funny tale is ideal for reluctant readers.
