Skellig author David Almond is back with a brand new story - and we have a sneak peek at the characters just for you.

David's teamed up with the wonderful illustrator Alex T Smith to bring The Tale of Angelino Brown to life and we've got a little preview of his brilliant drawings.

Meet Angelino Brown, a little angel who just so happens to turn up in bus driver Bert Brown's pocket. He's an instant hit with Bert and his wife Betty, while St Mungo's students Nancy, Jack and Alice are big fans too.

But not everyone is so fond of Angelino, and we're a little bit worried about what acting headteacher Mrs Mole, Professor Smellie and Basher Malone are going to do...

Angelino Brown: A little angel who appears in Bert Brown's pocket. He's very small and loves custard and midget gems.
Bert Brown: A bus driver, married to Betty Brown, who can be a little bit grouchy but has a heart of gold.
Betty Brown: A fantastic cook, famous for her chips and her custard, who works at St Mungo's Primary School and becomes Angelino's caring mother.
Jack, Alice and Nancy: Three students at St Mungo's Primary School, who become best friends with Angelino and are all set to rescue him when trouble appears.
Mrs Mole: The acting headteacher, whose nerves are at breaking point because of school inspectors.
Ms Monteverdi: An art teacher at St Mungo's who is always lovely, wears lots of bright colours, and becomes Angelino's friend.
Professor Smellie: A Very Clever Man, who was called into St Mungo's to help the school Improve and to work with the Clever Children.
Sergeant Ground and PC Boyle: Two police officers who prefer not to believe in angels, even if they have seen one with their very own eyes.
