Win three spine-tingling Crooked Oak Mysteries...

Torch at the ready? Here's how you can get your hands on three seriously creepy science fiction stories from Dan Smith!

Pete, Krish and Nancy live in the sleepy village of Crooked Oak - where strange and unexplainable things keep happening. Whether it's finding the cause of whatever is turning the village inhabitants into mouldy-smelling zombies, identifying the creature making those horrible screaming sounds in the forest at night, or tracking down the missing cargo from a doomed plane crash, there's always something afoot in Crooked Oak... and it's up to the (usually) fearless trio to solve it!

Fast-paced and sinister, this compelling science fiction adventure series will have readers on the edge of their seats. Barrington Stoke books are specifically edited to help minimise barriers to comprehension, with stories aimed at the age of the child rather than their reading age. With an engaging plot, clear layout and striking illustrations, these short novels are ideal for building confidence and motivating reluctant readers aged 8-12.
