Win the book that answers the questions every child has asked since the pandemic began

Over the last 18 months, our lives have been taken over by a tiny virus we can't even see. Understandably, kids have a lot questions – like, 'What even IS a virus?' Luckily, this book will help!

What IS a virus? How do viruses spread? What's a vaccine? And why should I wash my hands?

There's been a lot of change and upheaval over the past year-and-a-half, and we've all become familiar with words such as "covid", "lockdown", "social distancing" and "lateral flow tests". It's easy to forget, in the midst of this "new normal", some of the biology basics...

If you've ever been caught out by a child asking the dreaded 'Why?' and 'How?' questions, and felt utterly stumped, this brilliant lift-and-flap book is about to become your friend!

What is a Virus?, written by Katie Daynes and illustrated by Kirsti Beautyman, is packed full of colourful illustrations and simple text. It's so accessible and child-friendly, you can use it to read and talk about with children aged 4 and upwards. There's nothing to panic or alarm, just lots of easy-to-digest information – perfect for curious children to help them feel safe and understand what's going on, especially as the conversation moves on to vaccines and what happens next.

Leave your details and answer the question below and you could win one of five copies: the competition closes on Saturday 9 October at 11pm
