The Little War Cat: win this beautiful book about hope and friendship

Inspired by the incredible true story of the Cat Man of Aleppo, Hiba Noor Khan and Laura Chamberlain's picture book about a little cat wandering the devastated streets of her home has a powerful message at its heart. Here's how you can win your very own copy...

A little grey cat wanders the streets of Aleppo in search of food. She barely recognises the city she calls home anymore - the humans in boots have destroyed it with their crashes and bangs. But when the little cat meets a kind stranger who wants to help her, a beautiful friendship begins amidst the devastation.

Stunningly illustrated by Laura Chamberlain, this lovely picture book is inspired by the true story of the Cat Man of Aleppo, Mohammad Alaa Aljaleel. Mohammad stayed in Aleppo to care for the stray and abandoned animals that had been left behind by people fleeing the war in Syria, and still runs a cat sanctuary there where he looks after hundreds of cats.

Watch author Hiba Noor Khan talking about her inspiration for the book below.
