Murray and Bun: Murray the Viking
Publisher: HarperCollins Children’s Books
Murray the cat lives with Fumblethumb, an incompetent wizard whose spells never go quite to plan.
One day, Fumblethumb accidentally turns Murray’s delicious bun into a sticky, bouncing bunny called Bun, complete with a cherry for a tail. While Murray’s favourite things are sleeping, relaxing and eating, Bun is an exuberant bundle of energy, who is always ready for the next adventure.
Since Fumblethumb inadvertently enchanted the cat flap, it has become a magical portal which leads directly to Adventure.
In this particular tale, Murray and Bun are transported back to Viking times, where they become troll hunters. The delightful duo embark on a quest to find Eggrik the Viking, who is missing, presumed kidnapped – and possibly eaten – by trolls. As they bravely journey to Troll Island and enter Gobble-You-Up Woods, the two friends encounter a few surprises.
With their contrasting personalities and touching friendship, Murray and Bun are a delightful duo. The story is generously illustrated with witty black-and white artwork and there are giggles on every page. This hilarious comic caper is the first instalment in an exciting new series for independent young readers.
Mae Murray y gath yn byw gyda Fumblethumb, dewin analluog sy’n troi bynsen flasus Murray yn bwni fywiog a gludiog! Trwy fflap cath hud, mae’r pâr yn cael eu cludo i oes y Llychlynwyr lle mae’n rhaid iddyn nhw achub Eggrik y Llychlynnwr rhag ellyllon ofnadwy!
Gyda phersonoliaethau cyferbyniol a chyfeillgarwch teimladwy, mae Murray a Bun yn bâr bendigedig. Mae’r stori wedi’i darlunio gyda gwaith celf du a gwyn ffraeth a cheir doniolwch ar bob tudalen. Y stori ddoniol hon yw’r gyntaf mewn cyfres newydd gyffrous i ddarllenwyr annibynnol ifanc.
