Hamster Heroes

When you think of hamsters, you might picture sweet, furry pets who snooze in sawdust and nibble on carrots. Well, this team of hamsters have a secret, secondary life – and one which is infinitely more adventurous. When their owner isn’t looking, the rambunctious rodents sneak out of their cage and become… Hamster Heroes! 

The heroic hamsters save the world from a variety of dangers. Hammerham smashes alien gerbils with her mighty hammer and Superham wards off a giant chinchilla. But, just as the team are settling down for a hard-earned lunch, they are confronted by their nemesis, Goldenpaw Guinea-Pig. He threatens to steal all the world’s broccoli, leaving Pushkin without her favourite snack! By combining their powers, the Hamster Heroes take down the evil Goldenpaw before returning to their cosy cage. 

Fans of Supertato will love the energy and humour of this rhyming picture book; and recognisable adaptations of existing superhero characters (Spiderham, Superham, Bulk and Hammerham) will be sure to engage fans of the genre. The hamsters pack a powerful punch, and their action sequences are given great dynamism by the bold illustrations. The text is rhythmical, funny and packed full of hamster puns, making it an excellent choice to read aloud.
