Elmer and Papa Red

Publisher: Andersen Press

Review

It is nearly time for the annual visit of Papa Red and the older elephants ask Elmer to amuse the youngsters while they prepare the presents.

Elmer takes the young elephants up to the snow to choose a tree. He meets a moose who promises the youngsters will be able to glimpse Papa Red when he visits. The next day everyone decorates the tree and the presents are placed beneath it.

That night the young elephants hide in the bushes and see Papa Red take all the presents to give them to whoever needs them most. He also leaves a present for each baby elephant. A Christmas Elmer story about the importance of giving.
