Aya and the Star Chaser

Aya has always loved the stars and can’t resist sneaking out one night to watch a meteor shower with her best friend, Naznen. At first, the girls are transfixed by the spectacular light show in the sky but then the mood changes. One star seems to be falling too fast – and heading straight for them.

As the girls turn and flee, a flaming rock follows Aya down the hill and knocks her over. Then everything goes black.

When Aya wakes up, in intense pain, she is confused and disorientated but worse is to come. And when she starts to breath fire and her tears turn to snowdrops, her mother is determined to find someone who can cure her daughter. Instead of a cure, however, she finds a prophesy which has Aya at its heart and will certainly bring terrible danger.

Mixing Bengali folklore with elements from classic fairytales, Aya’s story is as much about discovering the truth about who you are as it is about facing off against an evil, power-hungry witch and saving your people.
