About this book
Triangle loves rolling with the circles. But sometimes she feels different. So she goes to find somewhere she can truly belong. She has fun with the squares. But once more, she feels like she's spoiling their games. She just needs to meet those who are exactly the same as her. But when she finds the other triangles, life is a little bit boring. Can she get all the different shapes playing together?
Many young children feel that they need to fit in with the others in their groups, at nursery or at school, or even in the park. The lesson that Triangle learns - that it's boring if everyone is the same - is an excellent one for children to think about, and it's delivered in a fun way. The bright colours of the illustrations are eye-catchingly attractive, and the different visual games the shapes play are clever and engaging. The fact that each shape is also a different colour makes the concept of being 'the same' very clear, and the whole book provides a chance to talk about colours, as well as shapes and identity.
A great book to share, and to begin conversations about identity, fitting in and friendship.
