About this book

Jax and Jovi are twins living in Moonhaven, a land somewhat like ours except that werewolves are real, although up until the start of the story not seen for many years. Their parents are scientists who have been seconded by the government to do secret research into the werewolf gene – but it feels almost like they’ve been kidnapped as they haven’t been home for 6 months.

Then the werewolf attacks begin. But this news doesn’t stop Jax and Jovi and their friends going out during the full moon and taking terrible risks. They put themselves under threat, not only from werewolves, but also the sinister security force known as the Nighthawks, who are quite scary.

It’s a thrilling tale and Rob Biddulph has a double secret superpower. His books are so highly illustrated, and the chapters are so short that it encourages binge reading, in a ‘go on I may as well read more one chapter’ kind of way until readers may find they’ve finished the book in one go! The characters are 13 years old but it’s more for a 9, 10 or 11-year-old to read. Great for reluctant readers and with an ending that will leave you desperate for book 2 in the Moonhaven duology.
