About this book
Featuring 52 activities (one for every Sunday in the year), Sunday Fun Day is a compendium of craft, cooking, gardening and outdoor activities organised into Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.
In Spring and Summer, the focus is very much on playing outside, and in Autumn and Winter, there are more opportunities to stay cosy inside, making pies and quiches – or, perhaps making a cosy for a tree that’s lost its leaves.
Parents should bear in mind that some of these activities are ones that may require a little preparation or some items that you don’t already have at home, such as building a terrarium, but there are also many that are less demanding, including inspecting insects, building leaf boats, sandcastles and gnome homes. There is certainly a focus here on being outside in parks, gardens, seaside and fields, but all the activities are achievable with access to a local nature space, whether that be rural or a city park.
Lovely for families who love crafts, this is also a compendium of useful ideas for childminders, Key Stage 1 teachers and nurseries.
