About this book
A grumpy tiger lives in the jungle, grunting at the happy monkeys and grumbling at the flappy parakeets – but, the Tiger has a secret: he’s not brave, or daring, or fearless in the way that a tiger is supposed to be.
One day, Tiger wakes to find three children sitting on his back. He tries asking them politely to get off to no avail: then, he roars at them, but they just roar back. Finally, the children settle down to sleep with Tiger, snuggled into his tail.
But when the children see the far lights of home, they become homesick. Can Tiger overcome his shyness and return the children to the city?
Sarah Massini’s warm and beautiful picture book has a gentle storyline about being brave and overcoming shyness, and the illustrations are absolutely stunning. A lovely bedtime book that families will treasure.
