About this book
Molly lives with all the other monkeys in the jungle, but Molly has a secret: she’s a pig.
One day, Norman, the monkey in charge, calls a meeting to announce that there is an impostor among the monkeys, so there will be a series of tests to find out who the pretend monkey is. Molly is a little nervous about being found out, but she enters the tests with good will and tries her best.
Despite not eating a banana the ‘right’ way and a disastrous attempt at swinging through the trees, Molly is amazed to find that, in fact, she is not the monkey impostor. She might not look like everyone else, but it turns out that she has all the monkey characteristics anyone could ask for.
Huw Aaron’s brilliantly funny picture book is full of laugh-out-loud moments and Molly’s hilarious expressions are an absolute delight. However, it’s also a picture book with a message about difference and acceptance: Norman the monkey wants everything to be uniform, but is that really the inclusive spirit of monkey kind?
A smart, funny and thought-provoking picture book.
