About this book

It’s bedtime for Kit the little bear, but there’s one problem: She’s not at all sleepy, although Mum, Dad and Grandpa are all half asleep on the sofa.

So, inspired by Kit’s favourite TV show, Agent Penguin, the adults devise a number of adventure challenges for Kit to complete, with the aim of tiring her out: collecting up all the balls for the ball pit, getting the toy submarine safely home in the bath and watching Grandpa’s Super Star Light Projector until she gets sleepy.

Finally, though, it’s a story that gets energetic little Kit off to sleep – although, sadly for the adults, it’s not for very long…

Complete with a how-to guide at the end of the book that tells readers and their grown-ups how to make their own Super Star Light Projector, this is a charming bedtime book that most children (and grown-ups) will be able to relate to. Alex Patrick’s adorable illustrations are full of energy, with an original, quirky feel.

The book cover also glows in the dark, which is a fun extra element at bedtime.
