About this book
When twelve-year-old Alex wakes up with a huge spot on his forehead, he thinks things can’t get much worse. But then a second spot appears! But these aren’t just spots - he’s growing a pair of horns!
When Alex’s parents reveal that he is actually part minotaur – hence the horns - he struggles to accept his new identity. Luckily, he isn’t the only mythological figure hiding out in the human world. His new friends can’t help him hide his true form though, and things start to get harder at school. A hat might cover the horns, but a sudden growth spurt and a new beard are harder to conceal.
Meanwhile, some shadow demons have broken through from the mythological realm and are causing chaos across town. Strangely, they appeared around the same time new kid Theo joined Alex’s class. Unsure if Theo is really who he says he is and desperate to protect his friends and family, Alex must accept his true nature and the power being a minotaur brings.
A hilarious coming-of-age story packed full of fast paced action and funny illustrations. This book is very relatable for young readers who are experiencing changes in their own lives or feeling like they’re different to everyone else. Also provides a basic introduction to Greek Mythology.
