About this book

In ancient Greece, it’s 12-year-old Medusa’s job to guard the goddess Athena’s precious shield. It’s very boring, but at least Medusa has amazing hair.

But when Athena turns Medusa’s best friend into a spider, Medusa is so furious that she hurls the shield into Hades’ well. In retaliation, Athena changes Medusa’s hair into snakes!

Luckily, the god Hades has a plan. Medusa has 28 days to find the shield in the 21st century and bring it back to ancient Greece. If she fails, the snake hair stays and Arachne will remain a spider.

It’s off to secondary school for ‘Meddy G’. But how can an ‘ordinary’ schoolgirl steal a shield, all while avoiding detention?

Written in diary format, with lots of brilliant drawings and doodles, this is a very funny story. Many familiar names from ancient Greece pop up, and there’s a chorus commenting on the action, as in a play, but in comic strip form.

Despite her epic quest, Meddy G is still a relatable 12-year-old, dealing with friendship issues and school troubles. Perfect for fans of the Loki series.
