About this book
Boom! One day, Daisy the dog, Ginger the cat and Bubbles the goldfish suddenly have superpowers. (Poor Arthur the tortoise doesn't have any, though...) They band together to form the Mighty Mega Pets, and defeat the Ruffians, led by a guinea pig supervillain. Can they foil Guinea Big's evil plans to take over the town?
This colourful, action-packed graphic novel combines zany humour with hilarious friendship dynamics. There is excellent banter between the characters, in a similar vein to Gary Northfield's much-loved Julius Zebra series. The illustrations are dynamic and colourful, and many panels have a plain background, which makes it feel accessible and not too chaotic to follow. Plus, the text is in upper and lower case, rather than all capitals, which helps some beginner readers. It's a chunky book, but the story has chapters, and the action keeps coming. This is the first in a series, and it's great fun.
A very funny graphic novel about pets with superpowers!
