Middle School and Other Disasters: Worst Broommate Ever!

Heidi Heckelbeck is off to boarding school and she’s super nervous. Will she make friends? How will she cope without her BFF? Luckily, she has a secret – she's a witch! And there are secret magic classes at her new school. Perhaps it won’t be so bad.

But then she arrives – and her worst nightmare has come true. Melanie Maplethorpe, who’s been her enemy for years, is her roommate! (Or broommate as they call it at Broomsfield Academy.) Can Heidi and Melanie learn to get along, or does this spell disaster? 

Funny and relatable, this is a sweet story about going to a new school, and finding a way to get on with people. The font is large, with infant ‘a’s and many sentences emphasised in bold, making it easy and fast to progress through as you read. The many black and white illustrations also add to the charm.
