About this book
Can you help dress the baby?
They’re only wearing a nappy. Wriggle jiggle! Can you turn the page so that they’re wearing a T-shirt? Turn the next page to dress them in jeans, and the next for socks. Wrap snap! Keep going until they’re ready to go out!
This delightful board book uses a very simple mechanism of differently sized pages so that the reader can layer the clothes on top of the baby. Each ‘page’ is sturdy and perfectly sized to fit on top of the first illustration of a happy baby. This action of layering on the clothes is remarkably satisfying!
The simple text uses a few playful words like ‘peek-a-boo' and ‘beep beep’, and describes the article of clothing that will be next, thus inviting the turning of the page. Babies and young toddlers will love to join in, and this is a book that they can still get a lot out of when they flip through it by themselves.
The joy is all in the visuals – how each of Lucie Brunellière’s boldly coloured drawings adds to the total picture. Wonderful.
