Baby Goes to Market

About this book
With a basket balanced on her head and Baby strapped to her back, Mama embarks on an eventful trip to a West African market. Unbeknown to Mama, Baby charms the stall holders with his curiosity, cheekiness and laughter, and is rewarded with all manner of goodies. He is given six bananas, five juicy oranges, four sugary chin-chin biscuits, three roasted sweetcorn and two pieces of coconut.
Sampling one of each, Baby places the remainder into the increasingly heavy basket. Concerned that her poor baby is hungry, Mama sets down her basket to hail a taxi, but is bemused by the appearance of all the additional food!
The hustle and bustle of the noisy, crowded market is vividly evoked by the colourful illustrations of African-print fabrics and mouth-watering food that burst from every page. With rhythmic text and an abundance of humour, this delightful book is sure to appeal to mischievous babies and toddlers everywhere.
