Are You A Sleepy Monster?
by Guilherme Karsten
Interest age: 2 to 3
Published by Happy Yak, 2024
About this book
It’s sleepover time for little monsters – and the monster in this book is very excited to welcome readers to their special monster den under the bed. They are a little confused to realise that readers may prefer to sleep on top of the bed, however, AND that they don’t have special monster pyjamas. Most odd.
However, when the little monster climbs up onto the bed and snuggles down with a cuddly teddy, his eyes start to close… perhaps little monsters like normal bedtimes, too.
The second in the series that began with Are You A Monster? returns with another adorable picture book with a bedtime theme. The book’s interactive question-asking means that there’s plenty of fun to be had in asking little ones why the monster should do certain things, and lots of laughs at their amusing antics.
Finally, at the end of the book, there’s a nice wind down routine, asking children to tuck the monster in under his blanket and settle down for bed themselves.
