Turn your wedding day into a story of giving

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! As you embark on this exciting new adventure, consider sharing the magic of your special day by gifting a child with their very own book.

Perhaps you feel you have everything you need already, but you know your guests would still like to buy you a gift – why not start a charity gift registry or donate on behalf of your guests instead? Most guests expect to spend money on a gift, and would be happy to donate to a cause that means so much to the newlyweds.

Starting a wedding registry

There are lots of ways to set up a wedding registry, many couples are opting for online sites like Prezola. Did you know that you can set up charitable donations alongside/instead of a wedding gift or honeymoon registry?

Simply create your free account, select your chosen charity (or custom charity if donating to BookTrust) and add the link to your wedding website or printed invitations. Or if you prefer, you could create your own fundraiser on JustGiving for your guests to contribute to.

A donation instead of favours

Are you considering wedding favours? The traditional favour is given to your guests as a token of appreciation for their travel and attendance at your wedding. However, they can be costly and more often than not are left at the table! As a result, charitable donations on behalf of your guests are becoming increasingly popular.

If you would like to donate to BookTrust in lieu of favours, we would be happy to send out bookmarks for you to provide alongside your guests’ place settings, letting them know you have supported us on their behalf.

We can also send you an A4 print with a QR code, if you’d like to offer guests the option of donating on the day.

Simply email us at [email protected] and let us know when the big day is!

Evening FUNdraising

For a fun-filled reception that gives back, how about organising your very own raffle? Guests could purchase tickets to win prizes (i.e. a bottle of champagne or house wine) and you could donate the funds to charity.

For a more traditional wedding, the famous money dance’ game is always a crowd-pleaser. To play, guests pin money on the happy couple’s wedding attire in order to dance with the newlyweds.

For the couple who want to boogie the night away, what about song selection? In agreement with your DJ or live band, guests could request specific songs by contributing a small amount to a jar or money box.

Whatever you decide, we hope you have an amazing day with your loved ones.

Send a Charity eCard

If you’re attending as a guest, say Congratulations to the happy couple with a Charity eCard. Simply select your card, include a thoughtful note to the recipients and select your amount to donate to charity.

A sustainable gift that gives back.
