Letterbox Club Impact Report
This briefing outlines the most recent findings from our evaluation of Letterbox Club – BookTrust’s longstanding programme designed to support children from vulnerable or disadvantaged backgrounds to engage in reading and numeracy.
In 2025, Letterbox Club reached over 10,500 children aged 3–13, across 65% of local authority areas in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
What we’ve heard from children taking part in Letterbox Club
Every year we gather feedback from children through our survey and feedback postcards. Between October 2024 and May 2025, we heard from 290 children aged 6–13 in England and Wales who received Blue, Red, and Green Letterbox Club parcels via their local authorities. We also received 115 feedback postcards from children of various ages, sharing their experiences and reviews of the packs.
We found that:
- 95% of children say they like or love Letterbox Club.
- 90% of children say they like or love the books in their parcels.
- 77% of children say they are reading more on their own since receiving Letterbox Club parcels.
