Secondary Schools
We’ve developed programmes and resources for Key Stage 3 students, to get them reading regularly and by choice and to encourage the most reluctant readers.
How we help:
All the books we offer are expertly curated, so you can be assured of the range and suitability, to scaffold students’ choices and help find the book that’s right for them. Schools will receive all the tools needed to deliver the programme.
Book recommendations
We are always reviewing the latest books. Find diverse texts by using our interactive tool to search by different criteria or download our booklists.
Information for school staff
We also have secondary school specific resources to facilitate reading, engage families and encourage reading for pleasure in young children.
Bookbuzz really does help create that ‘buzz’ about reading. From the moment we tell Year 7 students that they will get to choose their own book to keep, excitement fills the air.

Resources for you

School librarians and teachers from around the country have shared their favourite ways to help students love reading. Can you try a few at your school?
-
Shared reading is a valuable tool in supporting reluctant and unengaged readers at Key Stage 3.
-
We recommend these books because they help to develop early communication skills. They encourage children to join in with their voices, learn new words and have fun with shared reading.
