What the Ladybird Heard
Publisher: Macmillan Children's Books
The animals on the farm are always noisy, all except for the ladybird who never says a word. But when burglars plot to steal the farmer's fine prize cow, it's the quiet ladybird who comes up with the perfect way to stop their dastardly plan!
This lively rhyming story is perfectly paired with stylish, vibrant farmyard illustrations by Lydia Monks. Children will love joining in with all the familiar animal sounds, as well as spotting the tiny glittery ladybird on each page.

My son absolutely loves this story, especially when I get him to make all the different animal sounds and leave him to fill in the blanks (as he knows the story word for word!).

Fantastic book for babies, toddlers and preschoolers as there are the sounds, voices of the characters, and use of loud and soft tones the parent can make, there is the touch element with the ladybird and "spot the ladybird" problem solving. The rhythms are great too.

We love this book. My daughter is only 11 months old so, at the moment, she enjoys pointing to each animal on a page and getting us to make the appropriate noises. The illustrations are great. We have the board book version and the glitter/raised sections capture her attention.

Enjoyable animal sounds for my toddler. A source of intrigue for my pre-schooler who joined in with the whispering parts and was fascinated by each of the characters in this story.

My daughter loves sitting in bed with me whilst i read it to her. When the page is finished she has to find the tiny ladybird on every page, she loves it! It's all glittery and slightly raised off the page, so she has now learned that if she can't find it, she runs her hand over the page! Cheeky.
