The Troll
Publisher: Macmillan Children's Books
A troll who lives under a bridge is fed up of eating fish and on the look out for a tasty goat to cook. Tricked by different animals into going further down the river towards the sea, he sets off with his frying pan and cookery book in search of a goat.
Meanwhile, a bunch of fearsome pirates are searching for treasure and craving a well cooked dinner of fish as none of them know how to cook. Fate will bring the two parties together with hilarious consequences.
This fun and unusual picture book brings together two classic tales with a modern twist, which is great to read aloud and beautifully illustrated with David Roberts’ expressive drawings.

My Son's favourite book by far and first choice each night for his bedtime story. Illustrations are amusing and add to the enjoyment of all the fun characters in this story.

This is one of my 2 year old son's favourite books. He loves the troll and growling "who's trip-trapping over my bridge?" He knows all the pirate's names and what tea they make. We have read this book so much, that my son can read you this story from heart and by looking at the pictures.

My soon to be 5 year old son loves this book, having gotten it 2 years ago. Having been asked to tell school for homework about his favourite book and do activities on it he has picked this book, it will be a winner for a long time yet!
