Five Little Dinosaurs

Publisher: Orchard Books

One little dinosaur with a rumbling tummy. Shall we look around to find her something really yummy?

Join five hungry dinosaurs as they search for delicious food to eat. Can you lift the flaps to search behind the rock or in the tree

This very simple counting book adds one more dinosaur on each spread, from one to five, and there is a large numeral as well as the number in words. The brightly coloured, very simple illustrations draw the eye with some cute details, and the dinosaurs are certainly friendly, not scary.

The flaps are made from different coloured soft felt, which is a lovely sensory moment for babies and toddlers when they’re handling them, and they’re differently shaped too, according to the scene.

The short text rhymes, and each spread ends with a question, which suggests that the listening child move the flap to find the food for the dinosaurs. This makes the book easy to interact with, getting the child involved. Great fun to read with little ones.
