Burning with shame, Youngest sets out to search for long-lost magic along with his fried Agnes and a loyal piglet called Satchel. He’s sure that finding it will regain his honour. But, after facing many dangers, he discovers that magic may be far closer than he could have imagined…  

This is a super fantasy tale with lots to enjoy. There are imaginative mythical creatures, scheming villains, close encounters, a quest, magical powers and a satisfying conclusion. Youngest is a likeable protagonist who proceeds resiliently through his adventure alongside Agnes and his adorable shapeshifting sidekick, Satchel.

There is good dose of humour throughout the book, and a generous number of black-and-white illustrations that will keep readers hooked. While there is some peril, nobody is ever badly hurt and there is an underlying message about defying expectations and being true to yourself. Great fun!
