About this book

This touch-and-feel board book takes a similar approach to the popular Usborne That’s Not My… series, with different textures and shapes for little fingers to explore on each page.

Can you help find the missing puppy? Follow the pawprint trail the puppy has left on the first page of the book and across the following pages, where you’ll meet several different animals – but are any of them the puppy? Each of the animals you’ll meet has a similar feature to a puppy – soft fur, or a rough tongue, or a fluffy tail. Great for starting conversations about what makes things alike or different from each other, as well as offering a fun variety of textures and shapes to feel – and a surprise lift-the-flap on the final page.

The text is large and well-spaced and the pages are clean and uncluttered, with simple and charming illustrations, making the book a calming read. The textures and the way they’re descried in the text match up quite nicely and the shapes of the ‘touch’ elements are quite well defined. If you enjoy this book, there are several others in the series, including Dinosaur, Turtle and Chick.
