About this book
A little girl takes us through her busy weekly schedule!
Monday is (briefly) for moping because Mummy has to work, but Tuesday is for dance class, Wednesday is for having fun with Mummy on her day off, on Thursday it’s the library with her childminder, Friday is for friends, Saturday is spent at Gramma and Grandad’s allotment, and Sunday is for having fun with Daddy. It’s a packed schedule!
This honest and sensitive book about daily life for a little girl whose parents are separated is full of warmth and humanity.
It acknowledges that not everyone’s family or typical week looks the same, but the little girl is still happy because she has a routine and feels loved and cherished by everyone in her world: Mummy, Daddy, friends, childminder, and grandparents.
Holly Sterling’s lovely, diverse illustrations are relatable and warm, and the book would be a great starting point for discussing the weekly schedule with a little one getting used to a new setup, or for a child of separated parents seeing their life reflected in a story.
