About this book
Two little dicky birds sitting on a wall. One named Peter, one named Paul. They fly away, but only Peter comes back. Can you help find him and bring him safely back to the wall?
This interactive picture book is great fun because it demands that the readers get involved, and in a very accessible way too. There's a lovely combination of words and actions: sometimes they have to shout something - a magic word, for instance - and sometimes they have to cover something on the page, or stroke the picture of Paul. How satisfying it is to for a child to be part of the story.
It is based on a traditional nursery rhyme, and incorporates other familiar story elements, like dragons, wolves and witches, all shown in gloriously bright illustrations. It would be fun to share with a child, or a group of children. Just not at bedtime!

Books based on nursery rhymes
Babies and toddlers love songs, especially those with actions. If there are pictures and books involved too, this is even better! These books feature traditional nursery rhymes, or variations on them. Enjoy sharing them together.
